Having worked with Bournville Village Trust (BVT) for several years now, we were excited to hear that their over 60’s residents were invited to take part in the filming of the forthcoming “How to look Good Naked - over 60’s” special edition. We quickly took the opportunity to get down to the Mailbox and join the ladies with a camera crew and reporters pad. We compiled a press release that has been featured in the Birmingham Mails Top Stories.

The Mailbox became a fitting stage last Wednesday for a group of Bournville Village Trust ladies to show off their body confidence as part of the popular TV show “How to look Good Naked” hosted by celebrity fashion guru Gok Wan.

Gok and his style team chose the Mailbox to film the opening scene for his Channel 4 show focusing on ladies over 60.

“When we took the call from Gok’s production team who wanted ladies of a certain age to take part in the show, we jumped at the chance.”

Said Janet Mawson - Warden from the community of Almshouses at The Quadrangle in Bournville. The bungalows at The Quadrangle were the inspiration of Richard Cadbury, of the famous chocolate- manufacturing family, and are managed by Bournville Village Trust.

A spokesperson from Gok’s team said

“Body confidence doesn’t come with a sell by date.”

This was echoed by Grace Albrigt - an 80 year resident from the Quadrangle.

“There’s not much aimed at our age group like this. It’s been great, I feel 21 again” said Grace.

After several takes and a few giggles, the scene was in the can leaving the lovely ladies from Bournville on top of the world and full of “Body Confidence”.
